Daniel James Amendola is a former wide receiver for American football. He participated in collegiate football at Texas Tech.
He has previously played for the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans in addition to the Dallas Cowboys. In 2008, the Dallas Cowboys signed him as an undrafted free agent.
At The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas, Amendola participated in the Weldon Willig football team. As he completed his high school career, he led his squad to its first-ever berth in the Texas state championship game.
Amendola finished his senior year with 1,045 receiving yards, 129 rushing yards, and eight touchdowns despite the fact that they lost the championship game to North Shore High School.
Amendola recorded 48 receptions for 487 yards and five touchdowns in 2006 as a junior. Amendola amassed 1,245 yards and six touchdowns on 109 receptions as a senior in 2007.
Amendola studied Communication Studies as his major at Texas Tech, although he graduated early to prepare for the NFL Combine.
