Good lord. Sometimes it seems like Jonah Hill just lives for “one step forward, two steps back.” Maybe he’s just gotten too famous, too rich, too successful too fast. Jonah’s 30 years old, he’s been famous for a good chunk of his adult life, he’s got two Oscar nominations and a dozen hit movies, and he has issues. Whether it’s acting like a douchebag in interviews, getting into Twitter spats with CNN anchors or now this, dropping the word “f—got” on a paparazzo. Ugh.
Jonah Hill lost his cool. The 22 Jump Street actor, 30, was followed by photographers this weekend when he was walking with a friend in the Los Angeles neighborhood Larchmont. Wearing printed shorts, a polo T-shirt, sneakers, and a baseball cap, Hill ignored the cameras for most of his stroll. One cameraman continued to try to speak to him, teasing the actor about his outfit by saying, “I like the shorts though, bro. They are pretty sexy.”
As he walked away with his pal, turning down a side street, the paparazzo continued to follow him, finally giving up and saying to the star, “Have a good day.”
Hill snapped back, throwing a homophobic slur at the man. “Suck my d–k, you f—-t,” he retorted to the photographer.
I’m including the video at the end of the post. While I think the cameraman was totally gross and I absolutely hate it when the paparazzi try to bait celebrities, there really wasn’t a reason for Jonah to drop the f-bomb. What the crap?
Anyway, Jonah “took responsibility” for the incident when he appeared on Howard Stern’s show today. Jonah said, in part: “What I said in that moment was disgusting … I shouldn’t have said that.” Jonah also said the paparazzo had been following him around all day and saying sh-t about his family. And Jonah said he has always been supportive of gay rights, etc, he has gay friends, you get the idea. Is this Alec Baldwin-level hate-speech?
